Hiii friends!!
Welcome to our first Auntie's blog post! Before we get into all these fun hairstyles let's get some hair basics out of the way. When doing kiddos hair I ALWAYS use a brush, comb, spray bottle with water, and elastic hair-ties. You may be thinking "Do I really need a brush AND a comb?" The answer is YES! A comb is a life saver in parting hair and getting it to lay flat without all those lumps and bumps. And don't sleep on a spray bottle! Wetting your kiddos hair should always be the first step in any hairstyle! Even a simple ponytail is 10X easier with wet hair!
STYLE #1
Ponytail
The simplest style on our list! Brand new to styling your kiddos hair? Start here for sure! Simply wet your child's hair, brush all their hair back, gather it where you'd like it (we went with a low-pony), and secure it with a hair tie. Add your favorite bow right above the hair-tie.

STYLE #2
Twist Back
I LOVE this style. However, although it may be very simple it is not sturdy. This style uses no hair tie. The hair is held back by the bow only! Super cute for family pics but not an everyday look. Part your kiddos hair on the side, gather a small section of the front (we like to leave some baby hairs down), twist the section of hair, secure with bow, barrette, or bobby pin.

STYLE #3
Half-up Space Buns
Probably my favorite style! We've been doing this style on JoJo since she was little tiny. Part hair in half down the middle (you can also part on the side, but one bun will end up bigger than the other). Brush hair on one side towards the back. Part hair on the side of head (where you part will determine how much hair is left down) and connect the two parts in the back. This should give you your section of hair to put in a bun. Brush hair into one spot, create your bun, and secure with a hair tie. Wrap tails around and tuck into hair tie as well. Repeat on the other side and add your favorite bows.

STYLE #4
Half-back Ponytail
Another super easy everyday hairstyle! However, JoJo sometimes doesn't like this style when napping or sitting in her carseat (taking out the bow helps most of the time). Part hair in half right above your kiddos ears. Brush all of the hair on top back into a low ponytail. Secure hair with a hair tie and add a bow right above hair tie.

STYLE #5
Low Space Buns
My FAV style! I love, love, love the way this style looks! Looks cute with or without bow but I love to use bows to hide my messy ends :). Part hair in half all the way down the middle. Clip one side out of the way. Brush all the hair on one side into a pony at the back of your kiddos head. Wrap hair-tie around 3 times, but don't pull all the way through on the third loop (creating the bun). Wrap the ends of the bun around the hair-tie and tuck it in. Use bobby pins or a bow to hold ends if needed! Difficulty- π€π€
STYLE #6
Messy Bun
So simple & so cute! I love this one, but if your kiddos hair is on the shorter side the back hairs may not stay in the hair-tie. There's tons of ways to do a messy bun, but this is my go to. Gather all you kiddos hair into a pony on the top of their head. Wrap the hair-tie around like you would with a regular pony tail, but on the last pass don't pull the hair all the way through. Create a little bun, leaving the tails out. Flip the tails of hair up and wrap into the elastic. Creating a smaller bun behind the first. Difficulty- π€
STYLE #7
Space Buns
Basically the same steps as the Low Space Buns, but on top of you kiddos head! Part hair in half all the way down the middle. Clip one side out of the way. Brush all the hair on one side into a pony at the top of your kiddos head. Wrap hair-tie around 3 times, but don't pull all the way through on the third loop (creating the bun). Wrap the ends of the bun around the hair-tie and tuck it in. Use bobby pins or a bow to hold ends if needed!

STYLE #8
Half-up Side Pony
I love a side pony! However, this style can be done as a regular half-up pony as well! Just place the pony in the middle instead of the side :). Part your kiddos hair in half starting just about their ears. Take the top half and brush hair into a pony on one side of your kiddos head. Secure pony with a hair-tie and add your favorite bow!
