Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself...

Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself...

For those of you that are new here or don’t know much about me, my name is Kacie. I am the face behind Auntie’s Accessories. I, unfortunately, am not the fly ass man above 😂. I’m just an auntie with a dream. This is me ⬇️

I started Auntie’s about 3 years ago while working a job I thought I loved. However, we’re not here to do a run down of the last 3 years, but if you want to know about that journey you can read it here! We’re here to talk about what got me here.

When someone asks me why I started Auntie’s, my answer is generally “because I wanted to make cute clothes for my niece”. While that is a true answer, it’s not THE answer.

Auntie’s came about as sort of a creative outlet during 2020 and one of the lowest points in my life. I started working as a nanny in 2019 for a family who was full of empty promises. For the first 6 months of the job I LOVED it! Slowly things started to change.  I dreaded going to work. Without getting too far into the details, we’ll just say the job wasn’t what I was promised it would be.

I hadn’t originally planned for Auntie’s to be a full time gig. However, towards the end of 2020 I could tell things weren’t going to end well with my nannying job. I started focusing more on Auntie’s and falling in love with getting to create outfits for your little ones.

Come April 2021 my nannying job ended abruptly, as expected. I took that as a sign to try and make Auntie’s my full time gig. To build my dream. I have always known I wanted to work with kids in some way, but was unsure how. I tried teaching preschool, I tried nannying, both left me feeling unappreciated and empty.

I never would have thought that creating clothes for kiddos I’ve never met would fill me with so much joy. Auntie’s is everything I never knew I need. Everything I’ve ever wanted. A dream coming true.

The last three years have been anything but easy. I’ve lost focus on my goals a bit and got caught up in the comparison game more times than I’d like to admit. However, you guys, my Auntie’s family have kept me going. I appreciate you all more than I could ever express. I love being your kiddos honorary auntie!

I’ve still got a long ways to go with Auntie’s and I’m working to make things better everyday. I can’t thank you all enough for sticking with me through the many stages of Auntie’s. And I hope you’ll be here for those to come 🖤.

Love you 3000,

Auntie Kacie
